Our Mission

A Call to Action

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the mountains of Western North Carolina bore the scars of nature's fury. As a veteran, our founder, Tommy Miller, was accustomed to responding to crises, but the devastation in his own backyard was overwhelming.

The day after the storm, a phone call changed everything. "Can you get a plane full of goods to people in a hurry?" 

The question was simple, the answer immediate: “Yes.”

A Mission is Born

The devastation is overwhelming, but so is the spirit of community. We learned that even in the darkest of times, the human spirit can rise above adversity. Inspired by the resilience of those around him, Tommy founded Operation Rising Sun.

Our mission was clear: to provide immediate relief and long-term support to those affected by natural disasters. We mobilized volunteers, coordinated relief efforts, and distributed essential supplies to those in need.
